The piece describes the course of an indefinite body which falls, more and more downwards, into an infinite oblivion. Each time we think we are touching bottom, an even deeper passage opens up: this is the sentence of this metaphysical image that describes the Latin expression Abissus Abissum invocat , that is to say the abyss, understood metaphorically like evil, which recalls another abyss and therefore a greater evil.
